Dear friends,

On behalf of the British Society of Psychosomatic Obstetrics, Gynaecology
and Andrology (BSPOGA), I would like to invite you to the 1st World Congress of Obstetrics, Gynaecology and Andrology (WCOGA 2011) to be held at the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre, London, during March 20-23, 2011. The Congress is unique in having experts from all over the world, attending to discuss psychological and physical interactions contributing to various diseases not only in women but also in men.

WCOGA 2011 will highlight the topics selected by presenting them as state-of-the-art plenary sessions, lectures, symposia, mini-courses, workshops and contemporary research findings, not only to increase awareness amongst colleagues, health policy makers, students and the public but also to help define management of these conditions by encouraging open dialogue between experts. A number of Royal Colleges and the Royal Society of Medicine are collaborating to harmonise the scientific content. Accreditation will be given for attending the congress so individuals participating in professional development programmes will find attendance can be added to their career schedule.

The proposed scientific programme promises to be exciting and is being developed by the Scientific Committee, chaired by Professor James J Walker, with contributions from the Congress Advisory Committee and the Local Organising Committee. Topical health issues relevant to pre-conception, conception, childhood, adolescence, adulthood and the menopause, concerning both genders, will be discussed. Positive health and compliance with recommended medical care in any community are facilitated by promoting a woman’s health along with the health of the partner and this Congress will underscore this to prevent disease and institute early treatment. I hope that many of you will submit an abstract for poster display or oral presentation. I believe that every abstract submitted is a potential prize-winning entry and a possible inspiration for future research and health planning!

The venue is in London with its historic past, cultural and artistic heritage, which has developed its charm and allure over centuries.
